Plot Summary: On her first date with the cutest boy in school, Ichigo is zapped by a mysterious ray that scrambles her DNA with that of the endangered Iriomote wildcat. The next day, Ichigo discovers that she has developed the agility (and occasionally the ears and tail) of a cat, as well as the power to transform into a pink-haired superheroine, Mew Ichigo. She and four other girls, each endowed with the genes of a different "Red Data" animal, have been selected for the top-secret Mew Project, which aims to protect the Earth from an alien menace known as Deep Blue.

Zakuro is a rising star and model. But the kind and nice personality she uses for television is the opposite of her normal personality. She is anti-social, and sometimes mean to the other girls. At first, she refused to join the Mew Mew group, and Ichigo had to persuade her. Zakuro is the oldest in the group, and understands the situations better than the others sometimes do.
Renee Roberts is part super-model, part Gray Wolf and a whole lot of attitude!
It took a lot to get this way-cool covergirl to leave the limelight and join the Mew Mew team, but when she did, she brought a hipster vibe and a high-fashion flair that leaves the local boys shaking and the bad guys quaking!

Mark is 16 and one of the most popular boys in school. He is a total jock and champion of the Kendo team. Zoey has a thing for him and it seems that he feels the same way.

Keiichiro is one of the owners of Cafe Mew Mew, the place where the girls work at, and also the secret headquarters of Tokyo Mew Mew. He helped Ryou with the Mew Project after Ryou's parents died.
Keiichiro is kind, and very good at creating new cakes and sweets for the cafe.
Wesley is the other team leader for the Mew Mew project. He is 17 and is much more refined with the girls. Wesley is a true gentleman who is kind and always impresses the Mew Mews. He has excellent taste and etiquette.

Ryou is a genious, and he also lived in America as a child. He is often rude and demanding of Ichigo, but can also turn around and be very nice to her. He seems mysterious in some ways, though...
Elliott is one of the Mew Mew Project team leaders. He is 16 and a little rough around the edges. He can be rude sometimes but overall he is dedicated to Zoey and the Mew Mew project.

Kishu is the first alien to appear. He uses an assortment of Chimera Animals, including the kind made from human spirits. His weapons are two swords, one in each hand. He first sees Ichigo as a cute toy and wants her, but later discovers he has fallen in love with her, much to the anger of the other aliens.
He is evil and conniving and always trying to defeat the Mew Mews. Only problem is that he has a crush on Zoey!
